Biography

Born in Zagreb, Croatia, she emigrated to the United States during World War II and studied art at the Arts Students League and the Museum of Natural History in New York City.

 

Her oil paintings, watercolors, and paintings on wood hang in homes, galleries, churches, museums and other buildings through the country.

Mrs. Morgan was artist-in-residence both at Chautauqua Institution and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. Mrs. Morgan also had a 40-year career as a journalist, writer and translator. In the 1950s, she was feature editor for the Warren (Pa.) Observer and, since 1969, she was associate editor for the Chautauquan Daily.

In 1985, she was co-translator of "The Cunning Little Vixen," by Rudolph Tesnohlidek, with illustrations by Maurice Sendak.

In addition, Mrs. Morgan was the co-founder and manager of Good Morning Farm Restaurant in Stow and a 25-year volunteer firefighter for the Chautauqua Fire Department.
